Role rates for workshop and site labour
Day rates cover labour only. Timber, hardware, and finish materials are billed separately on the cut list. Half-days are four hours on site or at the bench; full days are eight hours including travel within the M8 ring.
| Role | Half-day | Full-day |
|---|---|---|
| Cabinetmaker (bench) | £260 | £480 |
| Site joiner (hang) | £280 | £520 |
| Finisher (spray bay) | £240 | £450 |
| Two-person install crew | £420 | £780 |
Service fees that do not use a day clock
These fixed amounts apply when the scope is clear before we arrive. Complex heritage work may shift to day rates after we see the walls.
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| Single-room site measure (M8 ring) | £180 |
| Two-room measure same visit | £260 |
| Cut-list drafting after measure | £120 |
| Sample door set (up to 3 finishes) | £95 |
| Snag return visit (within warranty) | £0–£140 |
Indicative totals for common Glasgow commissions
Kitchen galleys of eight to ten carcasses with enamel doors: £5,400–£9,200. Alcove bookcase pairs: £2,800–£4,600. Two-module bedroom wardrobes: £1,850–£3,200. Figures include hang inside the city ring and exclude appliances and worktops.
Islands, sliding wardrobe fronts, and solid timber door sets push the upper end. Ask for a written figure after measure rather than treating these bands as invoices.
When money changes hands
A 40% deposit locks timber ordering after you approve the cut list. A further 40% is due when doors enter the finish bay. The final 20% is collected on hang day once the snag sheet is signed.
We accept bank transfer in GBP. Card payments in the workshop carry a small processing note on the receipt.
Outside the M8 and parking surcharges
Southside or peripheral Glasgow visits add £40–£70 to measure fees when parking or bridge tolls apply. Multi-day installs beyond the ring use the same day rates plus documented travel time billed at half the joiner rate.
